Where Science Meets Spirituality

We have seen how the sciences have penetrated into realms of the very large and the very small which our ancestors knew nothing about. The trouble is that the sciences give us vast amounts of data, but it is devoid of personal or spiritual meaning.

If we can use the tool of the scientific method for the nonphysical as well as the physical, we will not only open doors to entirely new concepts, worlds, and knowledge that is yet to be discovered, but will have a means of studying them. It will help take us from what we currently consider to be paranormal and supernatural into the realm of normal and natural.

According to Sam Harris, “Spirituality remains the great hole in secularism, humanism, rationalism, atheism, and all the other defensive postures that reasonable men and women strike in the presence of unreasonable faith.”

Some of this new knowledge has already been discovered but is being swept under the rug since it goes against everything the current scientific viewpoint stands for.

I think we are slowly realizing that the current reining worldview does not account for everything. I believe we are entering a new era of scientific discipline and what science actually encompasses.

Looking back on history and seeing how medieval astrology and alchemy became what is todays astronomy and chemistry, so too will todays concepts of mind and matter become something entirely different.

As science advances forward, it will discover the higher and deeper levels of reality and purpose. Understanding how spirituality works that is consistent with how science works, will require a new lens and worldview. A worldview that is based on mind AND matter. A modern outlook that is called, spiritual science.
